Trans-Art is Art that transcends the conventional form of art in order to express and experience the formless essence of art which shares one and the same nature with our ‘true essence beyond form’.

Trans Art Part 2 : Tasting-Art

Tasting Art is to express and experience a glimpse of your ‘True Nature: your inner quality that allows you to recognize beauty in the first place’.

After the artist realized that Taste, as well as Vision, can be effective means to show us a way into another dimension of consciousness where our true nature is indwelling, he attempted to combine Art with Taste in order to express a glimpse of awakening by providing an extraordinary tasting experience that can be experienced only once for each audience. The artist provides a 'once in a life time tasting exhibition' for an audience to experience the moment of speechless and mindless state of consciousness: a glimpse of your True Nature – the beauty itself.

In Tasting Art ‘The Cho : Just Once’, he transforms ‘The Cho (a specially blended liquid based on a Korean authentic craft vinegar)’ into an art-device to express a taste of Satori (the moment of speechless and mindless state of consciousness) in the mind of the audience.

In his first tasting art exhibition, he introduces opus 1 ‘Tasting Blossom’, opus 2 ‘Korean Suicide Stopper’ and opus 3 ’Naeng myeon-Just Once’.

True Nature of Tasting Art

“In substance, the only difference between a taste that touches my soul, and an artwork that awakens my spirit, is that one loses its form sooner than the other. ” Trans-artist

+ The Artist makes it clear that he considers all the determined Chefs as creative artists and regards their creation of Taste as a multi-dimensional work of art.

However, he also makes it clear that Tasting-Art is 'Not' about the art of creating Taste but the 'Art of experiencing Taste'.

It is the ‘Art of changing the inner state of consciousness by Tasting'.

Thus, Tasting-Art is about going beyond ‘Tasting’.

The core of Trans-Art is about going beyond form.

It can be considered as an evolved form of art.

Throughout its history, art was form.

Now, art may transcend the conventional form though other art-devices

such as Taste (Part 2) and Technology (Part 3).

Trans-Art is a new way of Art.

Tasting Art package prototype 2

The young artist who believed in a possibility of transforming an individual beyond egoic conceptual limitations with his Super Individual Art (i.e. Trans-Ego Art) gave up his art after the failure to use Namsan Tower and Seoul Train Station to perform his installation art (due to the city rules and regulations). However, after 25years, he returns with a small fragile bottle as his art-device instead of a train and orchestra that he insisted upon using in his art. This time, the exhibition holds in the mouth of the audience instead of Namsan mountain and Seoul Train station.

Furthermore, instead of inviting you to a gallery, he sends his exhibition to you. The Tasting Art-package is his exhibition and the show begins when you pour ‘The Cho’ in your mouth: Opus 1 Taste of Blossom.

In Trans-Art Part 2: Tasting-Art, the artist provides a 'once in a life time tasting exhibition' for the audience to experience the glimpse of your True Nature, the beauty itself.
